Planning ahead to 2017

The Festival committee have met to discuss this year’s events and plans for the future. In general, we were delighted with the 2016 Festival, many thanks are due to everyone who gave their support, and we have had a lot of positive feedback. Please do let us know if you have any suggestions for improvements.

2017 DATES
We are looking at moving the festival dates slightly for 2017, a little later in September, so the dates we are considering are 14th to 24th September 2017. If you have any comments or opinions, please let us know. Our next committee meeting is 14th December 2016.

As a spin off from this year’s successful annual Art Trail, we are now hoping to set up a local Artist’s Network. In addition to having had enquiries about linking artists with service providers to work on art projects, other opportunities have arisen out of the art trail for artists to collaborate with local venues and businesses, so we are hosting an evening event at Chapter 12 on Wednesday 16th November 2016 at 6pm. All local artists and any individuals or organisations wishing to work with artists, are welcome to this free event. Buy your drink from the bar then we’ll met upstairs to discuss how to move forward.

We would like to increase the size of our committee so please do get in touch if you would like to help with plans for the 2017 Festival.

Pick up your copy of the programme from most shops in Hailsham, local libraries, Tourist Information and many other outlets in the area.

We have a fantastic lineup of events again this year including classical music, jazz, folk, rock and roll, choral singing and more. There are five free festival competitions to enter, the annual 3 Minute Wonders red carpet event at Hailsham Pavilion, workshops for adults and kids, lectures, drama, literary events, dancing and of course, the Art Trail.

There really is something for everyone and many of the events are free thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters. Below are a few photos from events from the start of this year’s festival.
